Net metering is a billing arrangement where excess electricity generated by a consumer's solar panels is fed back into the grid and the consumer is credited for their power from their utility company.

Solar panels are designed to withstand high winds and are typically anchored to a sturdy frame to prevent damage.  They are also aerodynamic in shape to minimize wind forces.  However, extreme conditions such as hurricanes can still cause damage.

Solar panels can cause leaks if not installed properly. Proper installation, waterproofing, drainage, and regular maintenance can help prevent leaks. It's important to work with a qualified installer to minimize risk.

Solar panels can produce electricity in the rain but at a lower efficiency. Rain can also clean the panels, improving their efficiency over time.

Solar panels will continue to create electricity during power outages, just as they do every day, since the panels continue to collect sunshine and solar energy. However, if your system is grid-connected and you do not have a solar battery, you will be unable to use that energy to power your house during a power outage since your solar system will shut down automatically for safety reasons.
